2010 Elections: N.C. House Races

Federal Races        Statewide Races        N.C. Senate Races        N.C. House Races

N.C. HOUSE: The North Carolina House of Representatives consists of 120 members who stand for election every two years. Every member represents a House district, which is redrawn after each decennial census. During the 2009-2010 Legislative Session, Democrats hold a 68 to 52 majority over Republicans in the chamber.

2010 Primary Candidate Questionnaires:

In March, the NC FreeEnterprise Foundation sent candidate questionnaires to all candidates running for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House in districts with primary opposition. The candidates’ responses to our questionnaires are available on this webpage in two formats:

  1. Easy to Read Format: Click this link to download a complete file of all N.C. House candidate questionnaires in a easy-to-read format.

  1. Scanned Questionnaires: Click on the “Q” beside a candidate’s name to download and view a scanned copy of the candidate’s completed questionnaire. (If a candidate does not have a “Q” by their name, they either did not complete and return a candidate questionnaire, or they are not running in a district with primary opposition.

Please Note: All candidates were asked to respond to one or more open-ended questions and were invited to provide additional comments or explanations for their answers if the answer options provided did not enable them to accurately convey their positions or opinions. Please refer the the candidates’ scanned questionnaires to view responses to open-ended questions and to see additional comments.
